JOURNAL CLUB

The PDPA journal club was created as an open forum for dermatology physician assistants, as well as other health professionals and students i
nterested in dermatology to
meet and critically evaluate and apply dermatology literature and research to clinical practice.

What to expect during journal club...
  • The PDPA Journal Club includes participants and facilitators.  Facilitators will lead and organize the journal club meetings.  The facilitators are responsible for both the selection and distribution of journal articles from peer reviewed journals 2 weeks prior to journal club meetings.  Selected articles will be posted on the website for access prior to the meetings.  Facilitators will be given a honorarium.
  • Participants are encouraged to participate and contribute to discussions, share clinical experiences related to the clinical or research questions, summarize findings and share how they may or may not apply to your clinical practice, and respect others and their opinions.
  • All attendees are expected to read and critique the selected articles prior to the journal club meetings.
  • Attendees qualify for CME Category II credit

THE PA SPEAKER PROGRAM
The PA Speaker Program is a program of lectures scheduled throughout the calendar year, in place of the scheduled journal club dates, given by PAs who are members of the PDPA on various dermatology topics.  The intent of the program is to support our members and colleagues in providing educational lectures at meetings and events.  Each speaker is responsible for presenting a 50 minute powerpoint presentation on any dermatology topic of their choice, allowing ten minutes for questions at the conclusion of their lecture.  There will be an
honorarium and CME Category I credit will be available to attendees.  Dinner  and cocktails will be provided.

Anyone interested in becoming a lecturer, please contact the PDPA
